Butters was betrayed. Just one day before his family moved to Colorado, they brought their 15-year-old Chihuahua mix to the Apple Valley Shelter in California and requested the dog be euthanized; stating it was a better option for him than a trip to their new home claiming the dog suffered from dementia and constantly circled.

The shelter, however didn’t agree, and instead the sweet dog who loves to be petted is now available for adoption. A volunteer at the shelter tells the senior’s story.

“I spoke with shelter, they love him. Owners who dumped him requested euthanasia. The shelter says he is great, not suffering, not circling, not demented. But no interest. He has been there 3 weeks and shelter is filling up for July 4.”

Butters needs to be fostered or adopted immediately. Time is running out for him. Share this little guy’s plight with approved rescue organizations, friends, family and social media contacts. Help this sad little guy who spent the greater part of his life with a family who left him at the shelter to die alone. Sharing saves lives.
