Larry the Cat has an official title at 10 Downing Street, and obviously the “Chief Mouser to the Cabinet Office” decided to delay President Trump’s entourage while leaving Theresa May’s official residence om Tuesday afternoon.
Larry lives at the British prime minister’s residence, as have previous cats historically called the place home, since the reign of Henry VIII. The brown and white tabby has only been there since 2011, but follows in the paw prints of his predecessors tasked with job of controlling the mouse and rat population. He was brought in as a stray when Prime Minister David Cameron held office to deter rats.
According to the Huff Post, the infamous kitty hasn’t shied away from photographers, and earlier in the day decided to relax under the president’s armored limo – the “Beast.” Jon Sopel, BBC’s North America editor, noted anti-Trump protesters had failed to delay Trump’s motorcade, but Larry obviously had done the deed.
