Bella dressed up for the holidays at shelter but no one wants her

At the Carson Animal Care Center in California, Bella wears her bright red coat – hoping against all odds that someone will fall in love with her and adopt her. Since August 21 when she entered the shelter under the city’s homeless initiative program, the four-year-old dog has been available for adoption.

A volunteer tells her heartbreaking story:

“BELLA’S young owners lost their home and brought their two dogs to the Shelter to keep on hold while they found a home through a new program at LA County. 2 weeks later they picked up their Husky and I asked if they were coming back for Bella because she has been Very upset and sick and they said yes. Now they changed their minds and abandoned her. She needs help now!! The Shelter is completely FULL. She has lived her whole life with a Husky and was perfect. Please SHARE for her life, she’s SO sweet and a FOSTER or ADOPTER would save her.”

Bella’s shelter description:

” Bella is an attentive 4-year-old tan-and-white female pitbull mix who came into the shelter on August 21st as a stray from the Torrance area. At 31 lbs, Bella has medium energy, she is friendly and easy to walk on leash, and she also attends the gentle/dainty playgroup, where she is selectively social with other dogs. In playgroups, Bella keeps an eye on the other dogs playing but doesn’t really engage in play. The staff recommends Bella go to a home with kids ages middle school and older, and she does best with other large calm dogs; the staff also recommends continued socialization. Bella would be a great dog for anyone living in a private home with a yard.”

#A5311961 My name is BELLA and I’m an approximately 4 year old female Pit Bull. I am already spayed. I have been at the Carson Animal Care Center since 8/21. I will be available on 9/5. You can visit me at my temporary home at C216.

As of Bella’s latest update, she is now available to approved rescue organizations only. Please share her plight with friends, family and social media contacts. Sharing saves lives.

Update: They tested her with small dogs and she didn’t do well so now she is only available to a Rescue Organization. She needs help fast to save her life.
