A badly neglected senior dog is being held at a busy Texas animal control agency, and nobody seems to care. Three days ago, an advocate shared the Rottweiler’s dire situation, writing:

RELEASED TO EUTHANASIA, BEING WALKED TO THE KILL ROOM. CRUELTY CASE CONFISCATION! The rescue community came together for the 18, this is just one single dog. He is severely emaciated and his ears are half gone from fly bites. Senior who has probably been tied in a yard with little or no food in all weather never knowing kindness.

Despite the dog’s “death row” status, he was not rescued or adopted. Somehow beating the odds, the senior dog named Booger, is still alive.

Has Booger ever known a day of kindness and care? Or has his whole life consisted of being left outside and forgotten? Please don’t let him disappear without having known what it means to be loved.

  1. I have looked on the San Antonio Animal Care Services website, searching A550630, however the results come back with nothing. What’s his status? Pls. let me know. He cannot leave this world w/o knowing love. His story is all too familiar.?

    • NLL: I suspect that he was euthanized, but I don’t know for certain. I suggest calling the shelter directly and inquiring about his status…..
