Arrested: Florida woman shoved emaciated dog into trunk of her car

In Brevard County, Florida, a woman was arrested on Thursday after being caught on surveillance video shoving an emaciated dog into the trunk of her car. Sara Perry, 27, has been charged with felony animal abuse.

According to the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office, Sheriff Wayne Ivey stated Perry had just left a Brevard County animal shelter when she was seen on camera forcing the dog into the trunk. The woman had come to the shelter asking shelter workers to euthanize the dog.

When shelter workers told Perry the shelter was full and they do not euthanize pets for owners, the woman became irate and left. She then forced the dog into the trunk – temperatures in South Florida had been soaring into the 90s.

Authorities were able to track down Perry and could tell the dog was visibly malnourished and neglected.

“If you harm an animal in Brevard County, we’ll put your butt straight in jail and do everything legally possible to make your life just as miserable as you made that pet’s life,” Sheriff Ivey posted.

Perry has posted a $2,000 bond on Thursday night.

The dog is currently being treated at Brevard County’s pet care center. Updates to follow.

Bless all that contributed to the arrest of this POS woman. I hope they throw the book at her and when they are done, throw HER in a trunk of a car!
