An ailing, old dog in San Pedro, California, is in need of a rescue group to save her or she will die alone at the shelter where she is being held. The eight-year-old dog, named Sandy, has been at the Harbor Shelter since June 29.

Sandy’s health dictates that she be pulled from the Harbor Shelter by a rescue organization – she has a ruptured mass and may wind up needing to be placed as a “hospice foster.” A Facebook plea has been made on Sandy’s behalf:

🌟Needs RESCUE and FOSTER🌟
Sandy – #A1457778
My name is Sandy and I am a spayed female, tan and black Boxer. Pledges needed for RESCUE, has ruptured mass; see medical notes in pictures🔴

On the ARF Harbor Shelter Facebook page, information about Sandy’s personality has been shared with followers:

Meet Sandy! Sandy is one of the friendliest, sweetest girls you will ever meet. She loves everyone, gives freely of her soft kisses, and is brimming with personality and pizazz. Sandy is on Medical Alert and kept in ISO where no one can see her because she has an ulcerated mass on her side, and she has weak hind legs. Sandy knows her sit command, takes treats gently, and is a wonderful senior who deserves a loving home where she will be loved to the moon and back. Sandy needs a hero, will it be you?

Sandy should not die alone in an unfamiliar place. She deserves to be in the company of kind and compassionate people who will love her for whatever time she has left. Please help make that possible by sharing her adoption information.
