After over 1000 days, shelter dog meets his perfect match

After over 1,000 days at a California animal shelter, a dog finally met his perfect match. When Marmaduke first arrived at the Valley Animal Center, he was a bit stubborn…and lacked the necessary obedience training that adopters look for in a new companion.

Through the love and care of the shelter staff and volunteers, Marmaduke blossomed. He underwent extensive obedience training and polished up on his inside-dog manner skills. And it paid off! On August 2, after 1,001 days of being a homeless shelter dog, Marmaduke walked out the door with his new owner – a man the shelter refers to as his “perfect match.”

With his new person, he is enjoying daily walks and all of the love he can handle.

Congratulations on your new home Marmaduke! And kudos to the shelter staff and volunteers who invested so much time, love and energy into this deserving dog.
