A black German shepherd was “very terrified…very scared…and very agitated” after a man left her tied to a fence behind a pet supply store in Williamston, Michigan. On January 16, the Facebook page for Joey’s Pet Outfitters reached out to the public for help identifying the person responsible:
Joey’s needs your Help!!!
Someone tied their dog to our fence this morning at 9 AM!! I do have video of the individual. PLEASE help Joey’s identify the individual.
They tied him to a part of the fence we don’t normally walk around to see either except when we get deliveries.

Fortunately the abandoned dog was discovered before she suffered any long term effect from the cold. The dog has since been taken to the Ingham County Animal control and she is listed under the agency’s lost and found pets here.
Though Mark Marquardt, owner of the pet supply store, is “flattered” that someone thought his staff could help the dog, he wants everyone to know that abandoning a pet is not the right thing to do. He told WILX News:
If you find yourself in this situation please either contact your local rescue or your shelter, the humane society or even give us a call and we can make the phone calls”
And lest anyone forget, abandoning a dog is a crime…

Once again, thank you to the angels that walk among us!
What is wrong with people. You can’t take care of your dog any longer, ok, but do the right thing and take them to a shelter where they will at least be taken care of and out of the elements. This dog was lucky, others will not be so lucky when the temps drop and they freeze to death. That should be jail time for an owner if that were to happen to their pet.
Clearly the security camera has the person who left the dog. What a vile man, he could have found his furkid a new home.
It amazes me how cruel people are. Abandonment? Why not give them to a rescue? At least they wont freeze to death, starve or be killed.
People are so cruel. Really? Abandonment? Try a rescue. Pet will be taken care of, not left to die.
