In Rochester, New York, a pup named Pepper is having a hard time adjusting to shelter life in a kennel. The loud noises, the constant barking and the scary environment has her retreating into the corner – so desperately trying to hide.

“She gets blankets, treats, attention, the works,” described shelter volunteer Bri Marie how well the dogs are treated. “Just wanted to clear the air. Pepper isn’t in danger of euthanasia and she is given loads of love from all the staff and volunteers.”

Pepper, however is an example of  what happens to many dogs who are abandoned, surrendered or found roaming the streets. Pepper is expected to have many visitors, but the staff at the Verona Street Animal Society encourage everyone to educate themselves about adopting and help spread the word about all of the wonderful pets just waiting to be loved and brought to their new homes.

“Somebody please, please adopt this sad, scared girl at 184 Verona Street Rochester NY. She is the SWEETEST and gave me snuggles and kisses when I went in her kennel. She was too scared to leave the kennel for a walk. She’s young and beautiful and doesn’t deserve to be in there. Adopt Pepper.”

“My name is Pepper, you know like the vegetable. I would say I’m the sweet kind for sure, but not the hot one. But it’s been kind of scary here for me so it takes a minute for me to relax and show you what a nice girl I am. Everyone has been so kind to me here and have seen what a lovable girl I am! They say I give the best kisses ever! That’s because I love people sooo much. I’m happy to just hang out by you and make sure you feel loved. I would love for you to come down and meet me. We will have a life full of love and happiness!”

Share Pepper’s plight with friends, family and social media contacts. Sharing saves lives. Pepper deserves better. Be the voices for those who cannot speak.
