In South Dade, Florida, 99 dogs and five cats were rescued on Thursday from a “living hell.” According to the Miami-Dade County Animal Services assistant director Kathleen Labrada, some of the dogs were so matted with urine and feces, that half their body weight were just their coats.

The dogs are small to medium size Shih Tzu, Basset Hound and terrier mixes. According to the Miami-Dade County Commissioner Danielle Levine Cava, officers acted on a 311 tip with the Humane Animal Rescue Team and arrived at Alice James’  filthy home.

All of the pets are being checked by veterinarians and cleaned up. Check this little guy getting a spa day:

“We are committed to saving every pet possible, and we will need your help in the coming days finding homes for some of these dogs.

This is an ongoing investigation, and we’ll post updates on our page on the pets’ condition and availability for adoption when we have more information.

During the summer months, our population surges, so please spread the word about the need for adopters!,” the organization posted on their Facebook page.

  1. Why don’t people realize that hoarding is nothing more than “slow” murder?! Please spread the word and support these little sweethearts so they can be placed in loving caring homes!

  2. My god did you see those poor babies. That is a sick mind that thinks they are helping when they are killing these sweet furkids
