In Washington, DC, a $5,000 reward has been offered for information which leads to the identification, arrest and conviction of the person(s) responsible for the horrific cruelty inflicted upon a puppy.

According to a statement from the Humane Rescue Alliance, the nine-month-old puppy, now named Shepherd, was abandoned by a man in the early hours on Wednesday July 10, across the street from One Eight Distilling on Okie St. NE. Surveillance video shows a four-door, dark colored sedan driven by a male – possibly a Dodge Charger missing its hood.

Shepherd was found severely emaciated. In addition, he suffers from mange and a secondary skin infection.

“We are determined to bring this dog’s abuser to justice, but we need help from the community to do so,” stated Chris Schindler, Vice President of Field Services at the Humane Rescue Alliance. “We hope this reward will motivate any witnesses or others with information about this crime to come forward immediately.”

Shepherd is showing improvement. The puppy will continue to be in the care of HRA. Donations can be made to HRA at humanerescuealliance.org/donate. Thank you for your support.

  1. COMMUNITIES HAVE THE POWER TO BRING THESE EVIL LUNATICS TO JUSTICE. CAN DONATIONS BE MADE TO MAKE THE REWARD HIGHER?

  2. I wouldn’t need a reward to turn in a POS like this! If they aren’t found I hope Karma takes care of them!
