In a fit of rage, a woman from St Ives, Cornwall was captured on video, by her neighbor, punching and throwing her tiny puppy to the patio for spilling her coffee. Joanne Hosking, 41, slammed the one-year-old Jack Russell terrier named Edie so hard against the hard floor, the dog’s injuries had been compared to a “car crash” as it vomited green bile.

According to The Mirror, neither Joanne or her husband Christopher, 45, ever took Edie to a veterinarian after the incident. On Thursday, they both pleaded guilty to animal cruelty for the July 10, 2017 incident. Joanne was sentenced to 18 weeks in jail and her husband was given a six-week curfew. Both were fined and banned from owning anymore animals.

During the trial, the RSPCA prosecutor presented the disturbing video as evidence showing Edie being slammed to the floor from a height of four feet and then being picked up by the scruff of the neck and carried into the house. Authorities from Deyon and Cornwall Police seized the dog. A veterinarian examination showed the dog sustained a dislocated hip and he underwent emergency surgery.

Originally Hosking pleaded not guilty, contending the dog accidentally fell off a table. She claimed the dog was a “nutter” and “ran around like a lunatic launching herself off of things.” The woman’s defense attorney stated her client had been dealing with mental health issues and had been receiving help for anger management.

Edie has since recovered and has been adopted by one of the nurses caring for him at the veterinary hospital.

  1. Just because you’re having “mental issues” and under “anger management” does NOT give anyone the right to abuse an innocent animal. What the hell is wrong with people? Dogs and kids alike are prone to mishaps, HELLOO! IT’S PART OF RAISING THEM. If you are not prepared to keep these kinds of things out of their reach, THEN DON’T HAVE THEM. Period! F*****g bitch ought to be thrown against a wall until her hip is broken, then denied medical care for a few months. Her husband is a spineless POS for allowing it to happen. THEN, you don’t bother to take the poor thing to the vet. Freaking sub-human maggots ought to be thrown into a pit and left there. Pray I don’t find these callous, sadistic monsters in a deserted area.

  2. Yes, dealing with mental health issues certainly condones her slamming a puppy to the ground and not getting it veterinary help. How does she explain the video of her doing this as she says the dog “accidentally fell off a table”? I don’t care what mental health issues SHE had, it would seem her husband didn’t care about the dog either. I’m glad they are both banned from owning a dog again, but they deserved a harsher sentence than they got!

  3. What a fucking vile POS. I hope the whore gets fist-screwed in jail and then some. I hope someone pours scalding hot coffee over her putrid face every day.

  4. Mental issues – just another crap excuse for cruelty to animals. This bitch named Joanne Hosking needs to get exactly what she gave – and hopefully, there is some big predatory female in her jail pod that will give her a dose of her own medicine – she deserves a massive beat down – and maybe never live to see 42. And she should be in jail for 16 years, not weeks.

  5. Hope whatever friends she and her husband have disown her and don’t have anything to do with her. What a vile person. She is outside and couldn’t deal with the dog supposedly knocking it onto the ground. The uses mental illness as her excuse. Glad the little guy was taken away from them.

  6. This woman and her husband are too dangerous to be free in public! They should both be in prison or a high security mental ward for life!

  7. SEND THE BITCH =LIFE TIME IN JAIL !!!THAT MUST BE THE NEW INTERNATIONAL LAW =LIFE TIME IN JAIL TO ANIMAL ABUSERS /KILLERS !!!!

  8. Granted, Jack Russell terriers are small dogs. But they are not tiny. And one year old is not a puppy. I am completely appalled by the abuse of any dog, of any size or age, and I believe that probably everyone who subscribes to these reports feels the same. And so, there is no need to attempt to manipulate us further by describing a one year old (young adult) small dog as a “tiny puppy.”

    • Get over yourself Sue. A LOT of people refer to dogs of all shapes and sizes as a “puppy”, it’s established as an affectionate reference to their love of dogs. As far as referring to it as small, remember it’s not for YOU to tell someone else how to frame THAT, because to THEM it may be small compared to a 100 pound dog. Check your ego and appreciate what they’re alluding to in their words.
