A woman in Aiken, South Carolina, has been charged with animal cruelty after the discovery of a frozen puppy in an outside cage, and another dog chained outdoors in freezing temperatures. According to WRDW News, 39-year-old Robyn Denise Bacon was cited after the horrific discovery was made on the morning of January 2.

Authorities found the dogs outside of a home on the 500 block of Newberry Street NW – the deceased puppy in the cage was “frozen solid” and appeared to have suffered from neglect before perishing in the cold. The surviving dog, a white female pit bull, was determined to be underweight and covered with multiple cuts and sores.

Both dogs were taken to the SPCA Albrecht Center for Animal Welfare – the surviving dog is said to be doing well. On Thursday afternoon, the animal shelter posted a Facebook message about the ongoing animal cruelty issues:

A letter from our President: “I feel great sorrow for not only the animals, but also our staff who has to see these images and care for survivors of atrocities like these. I also grieve for the officers who have to deal with it firsthand. I grieve for our society. We have enabled people to become monsters because we do too little to penalize those that callously harm innocent animals.”

  1. Every single POS who leaves their pet to suffer and die in this cold should be put outside naked, chained, and without any shelter or the same inadequate shelter they left their victims, and forced to stay outside for as long as their dogs and / or cats did. IF they survive, THEN allow them the privilege of jail time. If not, society has been saved having to keep more vile, thoughtless, self absorbed killers in our midst.

    • I agree with you 100% – this is not lack of knowledge, this just cruelty, plain and simple. There is no explanation or reason for allowing this to happen. This bitch needs to experience exactly what she allowed and ignored the suffering she let these dogs go through. Personally, I would be happy to stick her useless ass out in our -5 degree weather in my yard and watch her suffer – and never bring her in.

  2. Here’s how a new law should be written… ANYONE LEAVING AN ANIMAL OUTSIDE CAUSING IT TO FREEZE TO DEATH WILL AUTOMATICALLY HAVE THEIR HEAT TURNED OFF IN THEIR DWELLING OR JAIL CELL

  3. What the head of the SPCA of Albrecht Center for Animal Welfare said it perfectly. ” We have enabled people to become monsters because we do too little to penalize those that callously harm innocent animals.” Those of us that care about animals are all too much aware of this, but many people hear about things like this and then go along their merry way. We not only have to reach people,.but change what happens to people who do this. Mandatory jail time for years . People who commit these heinous crimes continue because they can and no one really stops them. Laws must change and stiffer penelties for scum like this. They are too busy in Washington DC going after Trump instead of working to change the laws regarding crimes like this. This issue is for both parties to accomplish, not just one.

  4. Stronger laws and then enforcing the laws is the only way to stop this otherwise they will keep doing it. They know either the law will not be enforced or they will get by with a slap on the wrist. Work on the state level to change the laws in your state, it will not be done overnight.

  5. This monster is actually SMILING FOR HER MUG SHOT!!!! How about locking up this bimbo for at least 5 years, then giving her a $10,000 fine, then charging her for the vet costs ?!?!?!?? THEN put her ugly name on a National Registry so that she NEVER EVER can adopt, purchase or live in the same home as a pet.

  6. Well South Carolina IS one of about 12 states in the USA that has no Concept of what Neglect, Abuse, Starvation, Maiming, Torture EVEN IS!! THIS BLUED EYED BITCH NEEDS to be sentenced to a prison and put in a cell block with the other incarcerated women are fully aware of her letting her puppy freeze to death, and almost killed her other dog… Let her suffer the consequence of a Broom Handle a few times IT WILL QUICKLY WIPE THE SMILE OF HER FACE!!

    • Animal neglect, cruelty, torture , dog fighting needs to be moved to a felony status in every state and at the federal level , and enforced . Wish they could receive the death penalty and by the same means that these defenseless animals suffer. Well said by the SPCA President !

  7. What a cruel BITCH! Why didn’t anyone call much sooner?! Something tells me someone knew of her abuse to her dogs…those that knew are just as guilty!.

  8. Baseball bat my ass. I would freeze her ass like she did the puppy. She is not a human being. I believe they should make the punishment fit the crime.
