A Texas woman has been arrested after starved and neglected animals were found locked in her Lake Highlands neighborhood home. According to Dallas News, when the authorities questioned 29-year-old Jacqueline Youman about the condition of the dog and pig who where found in her yard, she admitted that she sometimes “forgot” to feed them.
Officers with the Dallas County Sheriff’s Department described the boxer and pig outside in the yard as “emaciated,” and noted that they had no available food, water or even shelter, despite the frigid conditions. Two dogs, in good condition, were found inside of Youman’s home – all of the animals were surrendered to animal control officers.
The animals’ owner is facing one count of cruelty to non-livestock animals and one count of cruelty to livestock animals; she was taken to the Dallas County jail and released on bond.
