A Connecticut woman is accused of a cruel act which resulted in a misdemeanor charge of animal cruelty. According to multiple sources, this week, 56-year-old Linda Scalley, of Wilton, locked her dog in the trunk of a parked car for a half hour.

The alleged act of cruelty

As reported by NBC Connecticut, the authorities were contacted about a dog locked inside of a parked vehicle in Greenwich on Wednesday morning. Responding officers discovered the dog, showing obvious signs of distress from the heat, in the trunk of the car. Greenwich police stated:

“On scene officers determined that the [dog] was within the trunk of the vehicle for approximately thirty minutes and was salivating due to the heat which caused the [dog] distress.”

No reason has been provided for the woman’s decision to place the dog inside of the trunk of the vehicle.

Repercussions for leaving dog inside of the car’s trunk

Scalley is facing a misdemeanor animal cruelty charge for her seemingly poor choice on Wednesday morning. On August 1 she will have to appear in Stamford Superior Court to face her charge.

    • Totally agree. Thought my home state had stricter laws ! I personally think she ought to be locked in a trunk !

  1. Until the laws change and animal abuse is something more than a misdemeanor….. this will not stop. It is nothing more than a slap on the hand to these sick monsters. Hopefully they will at least NOT return that poor dog to that female monster…disguised as a human.

  2. Poor choice??? This was a deliberate act of animal cruelty – and this piss poor subhuman skank named Linda Scalley should be charged with felony animal cruelty – all she will get is a slap on the hand when she deserves to be sitting in a jail cell – she should never see this dog again – and these authorities need a massive wake up call.

  3. This story is not true. It turns out that the facts were not reported correctly. Windows open, parked under a large shade tree, early in the morning, very nice out and dog was not in a trunk and was not in the car for 30 minutes. It is unfortunate that this was badly communicated.
