Was his face stuck in a trap? Unfortunately, this one-year-old dog isn’t talking, but his tail is wagging and he’s safe. On Thursday, FurKid Rescue were notified about a dog missing part of his face spotted at a McDonald’s in Memphis. A rescue partner was able to catch him and loaded him into her car.
By late afternoon, the organization’s partner vet, Dr. Bishop, in Memphis had examined the young dog. The cause of his injuries are still unknown, but facts reveal the following:
“They sedated our guy. He’s about a year of age. He’s got steel staining on his teeth, which means he was either chewing on a kennel/fencing, got his face stuck in a kennel and ripped his off trying to get his face out of the fencing. Another thing that could have happened is another dog bit his face off when he stuck his face in fencing. Another guess is his face was stuck in a trap.”
The young dog’s teeth and palate are still intact. His injuries are a few weeks old and there were maggots in the wound. Who can even imagine the pain this dog must have endured, and to everyone’s pleasant surprise – he continues to wag his tail. The prognosis looks promising, and he has enough nose left to breath and live a high quality of life.

O MY GOD! That poor dog – his poor face – I hope the vets can repair his injuries – he looks like he went through a meat grinder – IF he was caught in a trap this alone is a viable reason for those horrific contraptions to be outlawed – something terrible happened to him – PLEASE – Dr. Bishop perform a miracle for this dog, he deserves a good life and your expertise can help him get one. This is heartbreaking.
OMG! That poor baby. And still wagging his tail. Dogs are amazing. Be strong little one.
oh that poor baby. Thank you for taking away his pain and helping him
Glad he was rescued and sounds like he should recover ok. I imagine they will try to do some reconstruction or something to restore parts of his face. Happy dog and am sure he will be living in a home being pampered every day.
I will be praying hard for this miracle doggie and for ALL the heroes and guardian angels who are helping him! People can learn a lot from this little guy! We can still find a way to smile a little even when we are in severe pain!
