On Sunday, Violet was surrendered to the Carson Animal Care Shelter when her family became homeless. While it’s almost unimaginable that anyone could part with their 20-year-old dog, try explaining that to this senior shepherd who doesn’t seem be able to take her eyes off the front of her shelter cage looking for her family to return.

“Check out Violet’s video. She has lost everything. It has been so hot, she is not going to do well in the shelter and she needs help FAST! Please SHARE for her life; she’s SO special and a FOSTER or ADOPTER would save her. Thanks!”

#A5211222 My name is VIOLET and I’m an approximately 20 year old female German Shepherd. I am already spayed. I have been at the Carson Animal Care Center since 8/19. I will be available on 8/19. You can visit me at my temporary home at C106. My former family who owned me had to give me up because they were moving.”

    • Nadya – contact Frosted Faces Foundation…they are SD County based, and specialize in seniors. Perhaps you could become a foster under their auspices..and they would pull her, vet her, knowing you could be her forever foster or owner

  1. Violet looks good for 20 if that is correct. She will fit well into any family or foster if someone can do that now. She seems very friendly and anyone who adopts or fosters her will be extremely lucky because she will be devoted to you. Hope a lot of people and rescues see her page and respond quickly to get her out.

  2. Please someone there are some Angels here on this post that want to help this adorable Sr. Please help. Keep us posted. Sharing

  3. This poor, terrified, confused precious treasure……. OMG: my instinct is to snuggle her and reassure her that the world is “OK”…….

I just don’t understand how anyone could abandon a precious treasure like Violet…… Seniors like Violet are absolute precious treasures (& mostly want to snuggle and snooze)……. a perfect “low pressure” companion……

I would give everything to snuggle my beloved treasure MacKitty (who passed away @ 14.5, waaaaaaay too soon from liver cancer)…… I am sick inside to think of this terrified senior dying alone, afraid and (worst of all) unloved inside a cold, crowded, noisy shelter…….

Sadly owner surrendered pets are @ the top of euthanasia lists & seniors are “the first of all the euthanasias” as they are usually deemed “unadoptable due to age”…… I am heartsick to think of this precious treasure wondering where her family is & why she is alone as she is euthanized…….

There are special places in Hell reserved for Violet’s former so called family for their cruelty…….

I hope Violet finds a new furever home ASAP…… If someone is coming to the SF Bay Area, she is welcome here….. I would be happy to foster her (probably “fail” as a foster since she would think our home is “perfect”)…….
