When a photo is said to be worth a thousand words, can this dog’s suffering be anymore obvious? No words needed? Buster is a six-year-old dog, and oddly enough he was an owner surrender to the Baltimore Animal Rescue and Care Center on Tuesday afternoon. Because of Buster’s horrific physical condition, the shelter had been considering humane euthanasia. That was before animal advocates contacted Rescue Dogs Rock NYC:
“The minute we saw him, we knew we had to help him,” wrote Jackie O’Sullivan, the Rescue Dogs Rock NYC’s co-founder on their Facebook page. “Buster cannot stand, he cannot walk, so he has no choice but to urinate where he lies. Can you imagine his suffering? How vulnerable and helpless must he feel? We cannot imagine.”
On Wednesday morning, six-year-old Buster left the shelter and is now being transported to New York City for specialized veterinarian treatment. And despite the neglect and ill treatment Buster surely has had to endure for a long time, volunteers accompanying him in transit, say he has been winning hearts and giving kisses all along the way.
“We love him already,” Jackie added as she continues to update advocates on Buster’s soon-to-be arrival in New York City. “Amazing how forgiving and resilient dogs are. There’s a lesson there for us all! We’ve got your back Buster – thousands of us.”
An animal cruelty investigation has been launched.
Happy Valentine’s Day Buster – your new life begins today.

RDR does it again. Thank you for saving this sweet pup. The owner of this dog should be charged for animal cruelty and neglect. He didn’t get this way overnight.
You are right. This took weeks, maybe months to get in this condition. How does someone go about their daily activities, including eating meals and see this dog daily? The person that did this should be left somewhere to starve to death.
I didn’t not neglect my dog I could not afford care and no one would help me I had to surrender him to someone he was getting worst and worst I am not a monster I did everything I could to help him surrendering him was my last choice he is my son I did not won’t to give him up I had to to save his life no it did not happen over night I have been trying to get a vet to work with me with the payment every sence I lost my job people really shouldn’t speak on things they no nothing about not every dogs is abused or neglected I’m human I struggle and it was hard for me where is the help to keep your dogs not take them and accuse you of abuse

oh my gosh! WHAT KIND OF PEOPLE DO THIS???????????? IS THERE ANY ANSWER???????????
Thanks for saving this poor baby! The police need to arrest this monster now and makwe there are no other pets or children being tortured!
I hope help came in time. He looks pretty far gone. He will get the best chance with RDR.
Thank you for saving and helping,
You are GREAT !!!
WHY WHY do shelters accept abused, neglected animals that are surrendered and the owners are allowed to walk away unpunished????? They should be arrested and charged with felony animal cruelty at the time they step into a shelter with an abused animal??? I don’t and never will understand this lack of shelter protocol to allow this to happen. And once again, if not for Rescue Dogs Rock NYC Baltimore would have just murdered Buster and never given it another thought – what is with these so called ‘shelters’ that are so quick to kill off an animal that needs help??? Thank God for RDR – Buster would be dead if not for them. I hope he full recovers and gets the safe loving home he obviously never had –

Then you should have surrendered him before he got this bad. It must have taken awhile so you had plenty of time. Nice ending . Is that guilt talking.
Yes you did neglect this poor dog and you should of not gotten away with it period!
