There is a positive update to share about a young German shepherd who was tazed and then taken to quarantine after biting a police officer in Phoenix, Arizona. According to Fox 10 News, the year-old shepherd has been reunited with his owner.

The dog, named Flash, had been reported missing by his family, but his owner was unaware that the dog had been running on the highway for hours, and that he had been taken to Maricopa County Animal Care and Control after biting a police officer who tried to capture him.

Because Flash’s owners provided proof of current vaccinations, he was allowed to return home to complete the remainder of his quarantine.

The story

Flash was spotted early Tuesday morning running along State Route 51 in rush hour traffic. Police tailed the frightened dog for miles before he finally tired enough for him to be secured. In the process, a police officer was bitten and the dog was tazed. Officers had tried to lure the dog out of harm’s way with food during the hours long ordeal, but Flash was steadfast in his determination to keep running.
