Union man accused of running over and killing puppy in parking lot

A Union, New Jersey man has been accused of running over and killing a puppy with his vehicle in a supermarket parking lot.  On Friday, Luis Navarro, 73, was charged with one count of third-degree animal cruelty.

According to MyCentralJersey, officers from the Hillside Police Department responded to a call about the body of a dead puppy found in the ShopRite parking lot in Hillside. The incident was captured on surveillance video and showed multiple vehicles coming in and exiting the parking lot. The video then showed Navarro pulling in. He parked his dark gray Jeep SUV, went over to the passenger side of his vehicle, took the puppy out and put it down on the pavement. Navarro then backed out of the spot running the puppy over with the front and rear tire. The puppy, named Luna was killed.

Navarro is scheduled to appear in court on July 16. If found guilty of animal cruelty, he faces three to five years in prison.

This is the town I grew up in and this is disgusting. I know the store where that happened and as far as I’m concerned execute the son of a bitch. Period. End of discussion. That was a wanton act of cruelty beyond comprehension.

I truly hope there is real justice for Luna since I have no faith in the judicial system regarding animal cruelty – This bottom feeder named Luis Navarro so well deserves to be given exactly what he gave to an innocent defenseless puppy – a fatal encounter with an 18 wheeler – he needs a dose of his own medicine – to be squashed like the maggot shit he is – splatter his useless old ass all over the highway – THAT would be justice.

This is horrible, I am literally in tears thinking about that poor puppy being run over like that. It doesn’t sound like an “accident” either. This POS needs to be put in front of a car and run over himself! There is NO punishment that he will receive that will ever get justice for Luna! May he rot in prison and then in Hell!

Lock this POS up for maximum years, then fine him a maximum penalty and put his name on a National Registry for animal abuse offenders. This was a tiny puppy…if the MONSTER did not want it….there would have been no problem releasing to a foundation for adoption!!! THIS IS A SICK, PERVERTED, MONSTER.

Do the same to this vile cretin. If he didn’t want the pup, drop it off at a shelter and say you found it in a parking lot. Simple solution instead of killing this innocent pup. What a heartless soul, if he even has one. Sentence him to lengthy jail time to committing this killing.Animal laws and sentencing need to be changed and a death is a death, whether it be a human or animal.

So I watched the video and the poor little puppy did not die instantly, but struggled. It wasn’t a fast death either. I suggest we find the name of who the prosecutor and judge and county attorney are and call, email, write , what ever demanding the max sentence. But be prepared for the defense to throw a few curve balls to get court delayed. Let’s put feet to our outrage, and demand justice.
