On Thursday morning, a volunteer from The Abandoned Ones “Saving Animals in Danger” had been  informed about a seriously injured dog left on the side of the road in Fort Worth, Texas. With the help of a compassionate Fort Worth marshal, the rescue worker was able to carry the dog to her truck.

The dog, dubbed Marshall by his rescuer, arrived  at the Burleson Animal Hospital where he was placed on pain medications and intravenous fluids for hydration. Sadly, the news for Marshall was not good. The trauma to his head was too severe:

Rescuers had been hopeful Marshall would survive. As of Thursday afternoon, he had been responding to treatment and had even taken a few steps. Tragically, he had three seizures and with each one his condition worsened.

Fly high in the clouds Marshall – everyone tried their best to save you. Rest in peace sweet one. You didn’t die alone.

  1. Run free at the Rainbow Bridge, Marshall. I’m so very sorry you had to suffer alone on the side of the street. You were surrounded by love when you made your transition. You will never be forgotten.

  2. Glad I am not the kind of HUMAN who would drive by like nothing happened. Marshal, you were loved even though you didn’t know it. I just wanted to hold you and make it all better for you. Go with God and all your friends.

  3. Sweet Marshall, rest in peace …at least you finally felt love and compassion as you crossed Rainbow Bridge. Thank you to the rescuers for helping him get to a hospital and NOT allowing him to pass as just another animal on the road.

  4. Any of us on this website would have stopped for Marshall and taken him to Emergency Care. He might have stood a better chance and possibly identified the seizures so he could be helped. I am sure the person who hit Marshall didn’t do it intentionally, but leaving him there makes me feel this person couldn’t care about any live creature, animal or human. Why are there such scummy people in this country who don’t extend themselves to help in situations like this. We know nothing about Marshall, but being in Texas, was probably a stray. Rest in Peace Marshall we loved you and were saying prayers for you, but God and your other fur friends needed you more. Run free.

  5. So sorry help came too late for this sad dog. I am comforted in knowing he is free of his pain. Tears are falling for him. My heart hurts.

  6. Marshall deserved MUCH better than to be treated like a disposable object and the hunk of maggot puke that dumped him and left him to die will pay dearly sooner or later – anyone who mistreats, abuses or treats any animal cruelly is no more than a sniveling coward who has no soul and deserves all the bad karma they get. What goes around comes around and may it come back with a vengeance – this bastard deserves it.
