Noel is sick, at risk and on the list

Update 1/10/18: Rescued! Placed with Amsterdog.

On Christmas Eve, a beautiful dog dubbed Noel found herself sitting inside of a kennel run at the Brooklyn Care Center in New York. Noel should have been enjoying the festivities of the holiday with her family, but alas, that was not her fate.

Today, Noel is in desperate need of help from strangers. Noel is suffering from an upper respiratory infection and as a result, she has been on the dreaded “at risk list” for two nights. Notes on the animal shelter’s website provide a glimpse into this pretty dog’s personality:

I love treats! The crunchier the better. I will stand up and show my fit belly if you have a few liver treats in your hand. I have a shy personality. I get along with people who are patience with me. I would rather be alone with you then share your attention with another dog. I mean I can work around it, but I who doesn’t like getting spoil. I need time, love, treats, and space.

All of the shelter notes on Noel can be accessed at this link.

From the shelter’s at risk site:

For anyone who wishes to adopt, there is a mandatory deposit fee of $200 plus a transaction fee per animal to place an adoption reservation. The $200 covers $50 toward the adoption fee and $150 for the spay/neuter deposit. If the animal has already been spayed or neutered or is permanently waived by one of our veterinarians, the $150 deposit will be refunded at the time of the adoption. If the animal does need to leave without being spayed or neutered due to his/her medical condition, the $150 deposit will be refunded at the time they are brought back for the spay/neuter surgery or when proof of sterilization being done elsewhere is provided to ACC. If you do not follow through with the adoption, the entire $200 deposit will be considered a charitable donation to ACC’s Special Treatment and Recovery Fund (STAR). Also, if the adoption fee for an animal is less than $50, the difference will be considered a charitable donation to the STAR Fund. Similarly, in-shelter pricing promotions do not apply to at-risk animals.

To complete an adoption, please click reserve on the animal of your choice. That animal will be loaded in your cart and you will have 15 minutes to complete the adoption process. In order to complete your reservation, you need to check out (top right corner). At this point, you will enter in your credit card information and a receipt will be emailed to you as confirmation of your reservation. If you have any issues, please email [email protected] for help navigating the website.

Did you know that if you want to get updates from a Facebook page, you have to do more than just “like” it? To get recent postings in your Facebook feed, you must also hover your mouse over the word “following” and then click “see first” from the drop-down menu. You may want to check back with your favorite pages on occasion because Facebook often changes your settings, no longer having your favorites among those to “see first.”

  1. OMG she is gorgeous and what a cutie she is. I hope and pray that somebody will come and adopt her. I would if i was living closer

  2. She would be so easy to adopt out with someone that has the time to have her come out of her shell. She acts so sweet.

  3. Someone please help this sweet pup she’s sick and needs help now I will pledge if someone helps her with her medical expenses

  4. And just another piss poor reason to end the life of a pit bull – upper respiratory infections are easily treatable BUT not at any hell hole connected to NYCACC – they do NOTHING except kill animals – Noel most likely got sick from the deplorable conditions these animals are forced to live in. She is a gorgeous dog who deserves much better than the crap this fucking dump makes them live in – because she is a pit bull she is treated like a criminal UNLESS some pittie rescue comes through for her – get her outa this MFing place that is NO shelter and has no right to call itself one.
