At the age of 10, a sweet German shepherd has found herself homeless…locked away from family and friends behind the kennel run gate of a busy California animal control agency. Precious has been at the Los Angeles County Animal Control – Downey facility since July 10.

Helping this deserving senior dog

What can you do to help this senior dog? Network this article (via Instagram, Twitter, Facebook and Pinterest) to help find the rescue group, or individual, who is in the position to pull her from the animal care center. Precious should be enjoying the twilight of her life with a family, in a home – not inside of a busy animal control agency. Please take a moment to help make that dream a reality.

So sad to see this old girl given up by her family, the only family she has known. I hope some sanctuary for old dogs comes and gets her, she should spend the rest of her life in a place that will still give her love and kindness to the end of her life, which at her age she may only her a year or two left.

She looks like such a loving dog that would appreciate a pat on the head, and just to be near her people would make her so happy. As they get older, they just want to be with you, near you and love you, nothing more. Food, water and a nice comfy place to sleep. Why are owners so cruel to their senior pets? I do hope Precious gets a new family soon. Even a couple who want a dog to just be with them, Precious is that dog.
