An emergency rescue organization is needed to help sweet Bruno, a two-year-old, injured American bulldog brought into the  Miami-Dade Animal Services on Saturday by Animal Control.

“Per shelter notes -pet was attacked by several dogs, very sweet, in pain, needing rescue/foster ASAP… If clinical signs worsen, humane euthanasia will be indicated to avoid further pain and suffering of pet. Beautiful dog with multiple bite wounds (new and old) and possible rib fractures.”

According to Bruno’s Pet Harbor adoption listing, (A1952459)

“I am an unaltered male, black and white American Bulldog mix. The shelter staff think I am about 2 years old.
I have been at the shelter since May 03, 2018. For more information about this animal, call Miami-Dade Animal Services at (305) 884-1101. Ask for information about animal ID number A1952459.”

Follow this dog’s plight on Facebook here. Share with approved rescue organizations, friends, family and social media contacts. Sharing saves lives. More information can be shared here. Advocates have been pledging funds to help an approved rescue organization with the dog’s veterinary expenses. It is not known how Bruno was injured; some volunteers contend the young dog may have been used as a bait dog for dog fighting. At this time, however Bruno needs everyone’s help.

Also note, Bruno is being treated by the veterinarian staff at Miami-Dade Animal Services, however a plea has gone out to rescue organizations in order to provide this dog with the individual attention at a veterinary hospital he desperately needs.

  1. Wish they would find out if this was from being a bait dog and shut down these dog rings forever. Must be enough outrage in the communities for this to happen. People tell on others because they want to do the right thing and that would start things in motion. Always report any animal abuse you see because it could be due to fighting rings.

    • You’re right! I volunteer at our local animal welfare. Most of the dogs are aggressive, but still need their exercise. Alot of the dogs are rescues. Not knowing how much abuse they went through. I still love them all though.

  2. Wait, there were both new and OLD wounds? I’m honestly wondering if this dog wasn’t being used as a bait dog. I hope they investigate whoever brought him to the shelter. Shared with prayers.

  3. Florida REALLY Needs to get some backing from the STATE LEGISLATIION and Members of the HOUSE of REPS and SENATE and MOST IMPORTANTLY the GOVERNOR!!! the death rate for dogs at the shelters down there IS HORRIFIC !!! DADE COUNTY BEING THE VERY WORST!!!!!!

  4. Good ol’ Miami-Dade and their lousy incompetence – Bruno was seriously injured because no one was paying any attention – par for the course of this dump. Now he may have to be euthanized because no one came to his rescue – Miami-Dade and their piss poor staff are responsible for this – they will pass it off, cover it up and pass off the responsibility of this tragic incident – this dump needs a complete overhaul – and I bet it is not the first time this has happened. May Bruno get released to a rescue and recover from his wounds – Miami-Dade SUCKS!
