In San Francisco, California, the suspect who tossed a Chihuahua to his death from the seventh floor parking garage after breaking into the owner’s vehicle, is believed to have been arrested more than 40 times before having been apprehended on Saturday and charged with animal cruelty.

According to KocoNews5, Wakeen Best, 35, was arrested after a police sergeant spotted him near Polk and Bush Streets. Officers had been responding to a report concerning an auto burglary and a dead dog. The victim had returned to his car and saw his four-year-old Chihuahua, named Dunky being held by an unknown person. At first the owner thought his dog had escaped from the car and had fallen from the seventh floor of the parking garage, but then he saw his car had been broken into and damaged. In just a flash, his dog was thrown off the seventh floor – the brown and black Chihuahua died moments later; his tiny bones broken at impact.

A report from the San Francisco Chronicle,  states Best has been arrested dozens of times and has spent only a total of a few weeks in jail. His favorite crime seems to be auto burglaries, and the Sutter-Stockton Garage near Union Square, has been one of his favorite spots. Best has had numerous property-crime arrests and short jail sentences. His other arrests included prostitution-related loitering and possession of methamphetamine.

Best now faces charges of felony and misdemeanor counts, including auto burglary, cruelty to animals, vandalism, possession of a weapon, burglary tools and drug paraphernalia. He is being held without bail and is to appear in court Wednesday.

  1. You have got to be kidding!

Arrested 40 times and this POS has spent only a few weeks in jail? Small wonder his crimes have gone from petty to committing violent felonies (murder): had that been a child in the car, his or her fate undoubtedly would have been the same as Dunky’s.

Lock him up and throw away the key! He should NEVER have been in a position to kill this innocent little guy in the first place!

  2. Judges need to be relieved of their duty. . How sickening the judges do not protect the people from this kind of scum. Always very short sentences for very serious crimes. This poor innocent dog paid with his life. He was loved and the judge will probably release this sewer scum with a slap on the wrist. I am clear in Oregon. Anyone in the San Francisco area that can organize a support for animals and their people and fight with incompetent judges?

  3. I knew what this POS hood rat looked like before I saw his photo. Let me guess. No Daddy. Mommy on Section 8 and EBT card. No morals, no ethics, no one in the home caring enough to disciple him or inspire him to be a decent, productive member of society.

  4. OK….. 40 times………….WILL YOU LOCK THIS SOB UP NOW?!!???! Or does he get another slap on the hand so he can continue his crime sprees??? AND MURDERING OF INNOCENT ANIMALS?

  5. When will the powers that be in California learn? Law abiding people and animals are paying the price because the justice system has no backbone and the government of California has no need to change the laws because it’s not hurting them. It sounds like the dog was in a car in the parking garage? I would not live in that state if you paid me! RIP little Dunky, you’re in a better place now without pain.

  6. Lock this disgusting POS up in prison and lose the keys…… this POS is beyond ANY redemption whatsoever and (should, in an ideal world), never leave prison except in a pine box (or cardboard, whatever is done these days)……

This POS will burn in Hell forever for his cruelty (& it would be justice if he got there ASAP, after suffering a painful, terrible death, alone and afraid, just like his helpless victim)…….

  7. This SURE DOESN”T SAY ONE HELL OF A LOT about the JUSTICE SYSTEM in California.. of course California for the most part don’t put animal’s the shelters, or rescues very high on the list of priorities either… Governor BROWN ” SUCKS” as a advocate FOR ANIMALS>>> the puke that did this needs to VANISH IN THIN AIR!!!

  8. What judges gave this scum these sentences? A slap on the wrist so he could go out and commit more of his”fun” crimes. This thing belongs in jail forever never to be out and in solitary. Throwing that man’s tiny dog from the parking garage proves he has no feelings for anything,so the judge should show him no mercy. Let the prison inmates give him the justice he deserves.

  9. This sure does not say much for the justice system that literally slapped this punk’s wrist and sent him home after being arrested 40x – maybe NOW someone will step up and put him away for life – to do what he did to an innocent defenseless dog absolutely proves Wakeen Best is nothing more than a useless waste who should NEVER be in society ever again. Personally, save the taxpayers money San Francisco and just hogtie this hunk of maggot shit and throw him off the Golden Gate Bridge – he deserves no less.
