A $1,000 cash reward is being offered for anyone recognizing and identifying the car that surveillance cameras picked up on Friday in Las Cruces, New Mexico who ran over a family’s dog on private property in their own driveway. According to the Facebook page of Kelly Etz, a black Camaro drove into the Organ Mesa Ranch and purposely ran over the dog, who had been protecting his home.

Jude, an Australian shepherd was killed at 2:58 p.m. when Kelly and her family were not at home. Jude and another dog named Finn had been seen earlier on the surveillance cameras snoozing together on the porch. When an incoming vehicle approached, both dogs woke up and ran out to investigate.

The camera showed the black Camaro approach the home. The vehicle stopped, but no one got out – most likely because the dogs ran right up to the car. Moments later the car accelerated and seemed to have taken aim at Jude, dragging him for several feet underneath the vehicle before taking off and speeding away. The dog can be seen writhing in pain.

The family arrived home a half hour later to her dog in the middle of the gravel driveway. Jude was dead.

According to the Las Crusces Sun-News, Kellie was shocked and devastated.

” I can’t pull in my driveway, the kids are screaming. I don’t know what happened, but I know something is wrong. Finn is no where in sight.

Later, Kellie found Finn cowering in a corner in the back of the house. The video has been posted to Kellie’s Facebook page, and it is hoped someone recognizes the car with the spoiler, a decal in the front driver’s window and black rims.

Sheriff deputies have instituted an investigation and did take the dog’s body with them as evidence.

“Jude was just doing his job and he paid the price,” Kellie said.

Deputies need the license plate of the vehicle and think it had been in the area of Sonoma Ranch and University Avenue on Friday or Saturday.

Rest in peace Jude.

  1. That’s terrible!! I hope they catch the POS that did that. Let a car chase him down and hit him. No place in this world for a sub human like that.

  2. So sorry for your loss it must be terrible my heart aches for you and your family could you post a picture of the car in your local newspaper someone knows who this evil person is rest in peace Jude

  3. Why do irresponsible idiots leave their precious pets outside, completely unsupervised? Analogous to leaving the Hope Diamond in the middle of the street. You wouldn’t leave your human child outside, unsupervised, so why would you gamble with the lives of your furry children???

    • I agree. Why did they leave their beloved pets outdoors?!!!! I feel bad, but, I would never leave my dogs outside without watching out for them.

      • I also agree. Never leave your pets outside unsupervised. There are too many evil people in the world.

        RIP sweet pup.

    • My thoughts exactly Nayda, what the hell is wrong with people? They put their dogs in danger by leaving them outside and at the mercy of a hunk of maggot puke who got their sick kicks by running over an innocent animal. The Currys are just as guilty as the murderer of Jude. No one is a hater here – it is just common sense to protect your animals at all times – this is irresponsibility on the owner’s part – and they need to stop blaming those that have pointed this out to them and start taking responsibility for the loss of Jude.

    • Sad but true . Owner is one hundred percent responsible. Tragic what happens when valuable pets are not secured properly from the lunatics that walk amongst us.

  4. what a horrible person, I pray they catch him/her/them. put the morons in jail. poor dog only protecting his property. I am sure someone knows who drove the car. turn them in.

  5. Hope they find these barbarians and run over them with the same car. And to the HATERS: do you stay inside all the time?? Didn’t think so. It is not the owner’s fault but the POS that was let have a car and no supervision of him. Really?? You criticize the owner for letting the have THEIR YARD. What do you say to the idiot that ran him down?? I HATE HUMANS.

  6. Rotten POS asshole who would do such a thing. I can feel for the family, but I wouldn’t leave my dogs outside if I am not home. I hate to say it but I do have to blame the owners. Why did the dog have to protect the home and this is the shit outcome. This dog would have been alive if he was left inside or been watched. What a beautiful dog because of some evil fucked up subhuman who is sick minded taking the dog’s life.
