A stray dog in Novo Hamburgo, Brazil was caught on a security camera stealing a book from the “Infinity” college bookstore of Feevale University. No one in the bookstore knew who had stolen the book last Friday; that is until a student returned the book and the staff decided to play the security footage from the in store camera.

During the time of the missing book, a stray dog had been sleeping in front of the store’s entrance, but had never been seen entering the store, but one afternoon, completely unnoticed, the dog headed to the book shelves as if he knew where he was going. In a second, the pooch grabbed a book off the shelf and ran out of the store.

After viewing the security tape, the staff was astonished to find out the name of the book the dog had stolen. “Days of Abandonment” had teeth marks, and its contents so aptly described how the dog had been living.

Once the security footage of the video was posted on line, the dog’s story went viral, and with that came a new life for an abandoned and lonely dog. A group of students gave him a bath and sent him to a local veterinarian for a checkup and vaccinations.

And yes, you guessed it! This sweetheart is now in a foster home living the life of a loved dog. No need for this boy to finish reading “Days of Abandonment.” That book is no longer for sale and will remain with the book store as a remembrance of this special story.

  1. we shouldn’t be shocked that animals are so intelligent. Humans seem to think we’re the only intelligent life force.
    Good for you sweet dog.

    • I will take the intelligence of my dogs over most humans every day. I think this dog knew exactly what he was doing. He found a new home didn’t he?
