As if Myrtle Beach, South Carolina isn’t one of the coolest vacation spots in the southeast, it should also brag about its police officer who rescued Willie Nelson – yes admittedly this Willie Nelson is an adorable pooch.

It happened on Wednesday when the little pup had been on a chasing ducks campaign at Barc Park South in the Market Common; he swam too far and ended up in the middle of the pond on a small island. Oh what to do, oh what to do?

Along came Myrtle Beach Cpl. Tommy Hunt who came to the dog’s rescue. According to the Myrtle Beach Online, the officer paddled out on a surfboard to retrieve the little guy. In the video, Willie is sitting in front of the paddling officer as the two near the safety of the shore.

Cheers of excitement can be heard as Willie and his family are all safely reunited. Check out the video the Myrtle Beach Police posted on their Facebook page. Why not stop by their page and congratulate the team – it takes a village.
