Dog missing after Jeep stolen

A couple in Yelm, Washington, is desperate to find their dog Ivey, who was inside of their Jeep when it was stolen from the parking lot of a hospital in Tacoma on Monday night. According to multiple sources, the Jeep was parked at the Allenmore Hospital when an opportunistic thief broke in and drove it away.

Finding Ivey

In an interview with Q13, Ivey’s owner, Samantha Worley, stated:

“Keep the car. If they still have her in the car, all I want is for them to take her somewhere. I don’t care what they do with the car at this point. The only reason I’m posting the car on social media is in case she’s still in the car.”

The 1991 Jeep has since been recovered…but the 70-lb beagle/Labrador retriever mix was nowhere to be found. An update was posted to social media on Wednesday morning:

We recovered the Jeep from impound yesterday, but unfortunately Ivey was not inside. She was last spotted laying next to the Jeep the night it was stolen (9/17) after the thieves parked it, ransacked it, and then left her outside. But the Jeep was towed at midnight and no one has spotted her since. We will be out again today, hopefully getting flyers and posters up. We will find you, sweet girl.

Call with information

Ivey is described as a five-year-old female mixed breed dog who is microchipped. She may be wearing her pink, white and blue collar with rabies vaccination tag. Ivey is described as shy, but sweet. Anyone with information about her whereabouts is asked to call the Tacoma Police Department.

  1. I pray u get your dog back u can replace the Jeep but not your dog he loves u evil assholes who did this hopefully they will be arrested & put away for robbery for a long time bg

  2. I do hope these people find Ivey but why if you are at an ER is your dog outside in the car? Leave her home, ER visits can be long and time consuming so she is better off being left at home with food and water. Keeping her in our prayers, hoping for the best.

    • I was at work when I had to be taken to the hospital. My husband, who was already on the way to pick me up from work with our dog, got a call that I was being taken to the ER and drove there to meet the ambulance. We didn’t just take her along with the intention of her sitting in the car and she has never been alone in a car since this happened.

  4. Oh, my God! This is the ultimate nightmare for anyone who deeply loves their dog!

Please keep us updated! Many prayers and blessings are sent your way!

  5. Hope someone took the dog to a shelter and since Ivey is micro chipped, hopefully that will trace back to the owners. I can only imagine how this family feels and pray for a safe return. Please keep us informed.

  6. ❤️❤️ WE FOUND HER! ❤️❤️ She was exactly where they had abandoned the Jeep the night it was stolen. We had left one of her blankets in a little corner that a neighbor had seen her laying in before they towed the Jeep, and she was sitting about 20 feet away from it when we got out there this morning! WE DID IT! THANK YOU! Thank you everyone! Thank you for sharing, and searching and commenting and praying. Thank you to everyone went out and walked around looking for her. I am so grateful! We are headed home for a nice, long nap! ❤️❤️
