Bagged dog left for dead with a note

Someone bagged up a live dog with a note saying she was dead

On Wednesday, someone left a dog, double-bagged in plastic which was tied, outside of the New York Avenue adoption center for Humane Rescue Alliance. The dog, dubbed Mary, was abandoned with a note that read, “dog pass away Thanks.”

Mary was still very much alive, but suffering from a variety of ailments. According to the Humane Rescue Alliance (HRA), after being taken to a veterinarian for evaluation, it was determined that she had to be euthanized. HRA’s Vice President of Field Services Chris Schindler commented on the cruelty of the situation:

“We are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying the person responsible for this heinous act. She was left to suffer and die a painful death. We hope this reward will motivate someone to come forward so that justice can be served.”

This case is being investigated by HRA’s Humane Law Enforcement division. If you have any information about this case, please call 202-723-5730 (option 1).

First, I wish nothing but bad karma to the POS who dumped this dog as if she was trash. Next, what was wrong with her that it was suddenly determined, that after being alert and breathing, she had to be euthanized? Did she have cancer? I wish we had more details. RIP Mary.

“Once freed from the bags, the dog, now named Mary, was examined by HRA personnel and was determined to be alert and breathing. Mary was immediately transferred to Friendship Hospital for Animals for further care and evaluation. Later in the evening it was determined Mary could not be saved and was humanely euthanized.”

Doesn’t sound like an English speaking person. I wish the cops could get the perp’s fingerprints off the bag and note. He was hoping the dog would suffocate & that the rescue would arrange for burial or cremation.

Did the dog have to be put down because of ailments, or because of problems due to being suffocated? What is wrong with people? Are they evil or just plain stupid? To put this dog through a painful death is so cruel. Sure, the dog might have been sick, old, and lots of ailments, but they are a living breathing animal. To do this to anyone, and anything is a horrible act.

What was wrong that she had to be euthanized? Doesn’t sound like they tried very hard especially when no details were given on her condition. Something is not right, what was wrong with Mary?

Tears. She looks so frightened. Wish we had the diagnosis of why there had to be euthanasia. Had she suffocated to a point of brain damage? Did she have cancer? WHAT? Hope the POS sewer scum maggot that dropped her off like that is prosecuted to the max. That little baby didn’t deserve that. She suffered so and the fright must have been terrifying.

Another reason I hate people – these uncaring, irresponsible hunks of maggot puke who treat animals so callously are the ones who should be stuffed in garbage bags and dumped in the nearest landfill with the rest of trash. Mary deserved MUCH better from both her so called ‘owner’ and the Humane Rescue Alliance who decided she should be euthanized way too quickly. Mary was given no chance from anyone.
