A disturbing Snapchat video which showed a man dragging a black dog behind his minibike continues to cause social uproar. In the video posted online on February 8, the sequence of torturous behavior has been viewed by thousands of viewers – many expressing their indignation. According to the Huffington Post, the video was taken in Bobigny, France; the dog is shown being dragged, and the terrifying video ends with views of the dog’s bloodied paws and torso. Laughing emojis caption the sick video.

Both animal advocacy groups Foundation 30 Million D’Amis and One Voice filed complaints.

“Filed a complaint with constitution of civil part for ‘acts of cruelty and violence against a domestic animal, tamed or held in captivity”, stated the Foundation 30 Million D’Amis.

According to the organization, the author of the video has been identified and arrested. Police have continued to investigate the case and are said to have been “mobilized.” They posted the following statement:

“…Many of you have to make us walk up this video of animal abuse. It has already been reported. Our investigators are mobilized. Thank you for your vigilance.”

In an updated Twitter post,  by the Anne-Claire Chauvancy, the dog named Gucci is currently in their care and although he is undernourished, his paw pads continue to heal.

“The dog is not in good condition. He has a lot of scars on his muzzle, paws, flanks… When he was dragged on a scooter, he could not follow the vehicle, he ended up being dragged… The skin was torn from the legs, belly and muzzle. And to add – today we are waiting for a host family until the culprits are judged.”

If found guilty of animal cruelty, the guilty party could be sentenced to two years in prison and a fine of 30,000 euros. (36,000 US dollars)

  1. what kind of moron does this?????? It’s so simple. If you are going to tie your dog behind a bike, minibike….scooter (Which I wouldn’t) you go slow and keep checking back.

  2. Once again, IF FOUND GUILTY? You have the video and the dog. He didn’t drag himself. The sentence is good. Two years is a good start. A ban on being anywhere near an animal for life would make it better.

  3. Beyond disgusting…. Throw him in prison and lose the keys…..

    WTF was he thinking???

Glad the dog will recover and be rehomed.
