In a disturbing video posted to Snapchat on Monday evening, a small white dog was seen being allegedly being abused in El Paso, Texas by two young boys.
After the video was posted, thousands in the El Paso area viewed it and began making frantic calls to authorities. By Tuesday, the El Paso police confirmed a bestiality case is now under investigation.
According to KFox14News, Detective Vanessa Acosta, from the El Paso Police Department Animal Cruelty Unit, stated the incident occurred on July 28.
“A lot of times, people don’t take this (seriously). But it leads to bigger things. Hurting humans, it leads to hurting children, elderly,” stated Acosta.
When the suspects are apprehended and should they be found guilty of a state felony for bestiality, they could face up to two years in prison. Even if the criminals are juveniles, they could face the same punishment as an adult except in a juvenile court system. The age of criminal responsibility in Texas is ten. Under the latest laws, if the bestiality crime is committed in the presence of someone under the age of 18, it becomes a third-degree felony.
Anyone with information about this crime and the Snapchat video is asked to call the El Paso Police Department.
