Senior dog lived entire life without home or family

Minnie, a senior dog at eight years of age, has spent her entire life without a home, or a family. Instead, the beautiful pit bull has spent her life at a New York shelter…

On Wednesday, Susie’s Senior Dogs highlighted Minnie, in an effort to finally, after all these years, find her a home:

“*Please Share!* 8 year old Minnie has spent her ENTIRE LIFE in the shelter. Her entire life. This no fault to Minnie – she is very lovable and dreams to be part of a family. She is even potty trained and ready to move in! The thing is, some doggies just have crummy luck. And since all doggies are entirely dependent on humans to change their fate, Minnie has been at the mercy of humans her whole life. Now that SSD is aware of Minnie’s situation we will do everything in our might rewrite her life’s ending. Please help us to help Minnie get out of the shelter and into a home.”

A volunteer with Heavenly Angels Animal Rescue wrote:

“Minnie is one of the most gorgeous girls you will ever meet! She is approximately 8-ish years old and she weighs about 75 pounds. Her blue coat is so unique; words just cannot describe how beautiful she is. I find her to be very lovable and low key, on the whole. She also seems lonely and probably misses being part of a family.”

Minnie has a moderate level of energy, is leash trained, and she is potty trained. The rescue group would like to see her in a home without cats – she is selective with other dogs, so a meet-and-greet is necessary.

You can increase Minnie’s odds of finding her forever family by taking a moment to share her information. Questions? Please email [email protected]

Did you know that if you want to get updates from a Facebook page, you have to do more than just “like” it? To get recent postings in your Facebook feed, you must also hover your mouse over the word “following” and then click “see first” from the drop-down menu. You may want to check back with your favorite pages on occasion because Facebook often changes your settings, no longer having your favorites among those to “see first.”

    • Apparently you’re NOT that interested in finding her a forever home because you have turned down TWO offers to take her in. Amazes me how these rescues beg and plead with people, but arrogantly turn down potential adopters without FULLY vetting the offer. Every time I’ve reached out to a rescue, I’m either completely ignored or recklessly turned away because of THEIR PRECONCEIVED ideas. That’s why I will NEVER donate to any of them again because DOUBLE standards do NOT deserve rewarding. Good luck Minnie, you will need it. I pray the love and power of God raises you above the exaggerated sense of superiority of certain rescues who THINK they are judge and jury.

      • I’m not sure, all I got was a 2 sentence response to my 4 paragraph letter. I offer 2.5 acres of fenced in property, a letter from my vet of 18 years and I insure my dogs for life with a Banfield Pet Hospital Insurance policy. What amazes me is that SOME rescues don’t bother to realize when they respond to potential adopters with no regard of their time, or don’t respond at all, this forces people like me to QUIT donating and QUIT offering help. Then they cry about needing funds. The only rescues I support now is Villalobos Rescue Center in New Orleans and Rescue Dogs NYC. Please know that I do NOT want to criticize these people as I know they all work very hard, but a little courtesy goes a long way with me. If someone wants respect and support, then be prepared to give the same in return.
