Senior watches sadly as he is passed by again and again
Spread the love

Imagine the heartbreak of being locked away – day in and day out, week after week, month after month. That sad scenario is the reality for a sweet senior dog named Elvis. Eight-year-old Elvis has been held at the Los Angeles Animal Services – North Central Shelter since October 2017.

What is being said about this sad senior dog

A shelter visitor wrote:

He is BEAUTIFUL. Look at those eyes. He looks like he is crying every time I visit him at the shelter. He doesn’t bark and just watches people go by him because he’s another grey Pittie in a cage.

Adding:

He’s still calm and as sweet as ever. I would go crazy.

Saving Elvis

Potential adopters are bypassing this lovely older boy…he is after all, just another gray pit bull behind bars. But you have the power to help Elvis by taking a moment out of your day to network his adoption information. Share this article to social media (Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, Pinterest) to help Elvis be seen.

  1. What a loving dog. Just look at that face wanting to return the love to his new family. Please, someone foster or adopt this beautiful animal. He is a senior and will return more love than you could ever imagine.

  2. Love and prayers to you, sweet Elvis! If only people, especially seniors, realized how much love and joy a dog like this enriches their lives–we would never have these kinds of tragedies!

  3. Just to share a thought with anyone reluctant to adopt an older dog like Elvis. We adopted 2 senior dogs-bonded brother labs-at 9 years old. They were our joy and their happiness at being adopted was palpable. We were concerned about their ability to get into our SUV at first, but all we had to do was open the door and they flew in! Older dogs are so very grateful to be adopted that they will only want to please and love you. So go for it!

    • Amen! I’ve adopted 2 senior Yellow Labs (not at the same time). I swear they know they’re being given one last chance, and they’re not about to mess it up! My first Lab was 8 years old and he lived to be 16. I adopted Bogie when he was 8-1/2 years old and he’s 12 now.
