A handsome old boy, nine years of age, has lost everything that he once knew. Buddy has been in a kennel at the Riverside County Animal Control since November 5 – the day that his owner handed him over to strangers. Buddy is undoubtedly scared and confused – he no longer has his people, or his toys. Everything that was once familiar is gone.

Senior dog

At nine years of age, Buddy has many of the age-related maladies that older dogs develop. On November 16, the volunteer-run Facebook page, Saving Riverside Shelter Dogs, wrote:

    • I will take him! Can I drive out this weekend to see him and introduce him to my boy Bentley? Bentley’s 3 years old and gets along with dogs and people. he’s still got a little bit of that youthful puppy in him so an old boy like Buddy could teach him a few things about play. Bentley’s very gentle and would love a buddy.

  1. He’s already been adopted. Are stories even updated with the status? You promote sharing the article but then what happens is that people who don’t know how to even check the status of the animal end up sharing this endlessly and not paying attention to dogs that still need help!!!
