Last week, the dog warden in Butler County, Ohio, reached out to the public for help finding the owner of two badly neglected and malnourished dogs. According to Journal-News, the owner has been identified and charged and it just so happens to it was the same person who claimed to have found them.

According to the Butler County Sheriff, the owner of the female dogs is identified as 42-year-old Brian Trauthwein. Animal Friends Humane Society broke the news to Facebook followers:

BREAKING NEWS: OWNER ARRESTED AND CHARGED WITH ANIMAL CRUELTY! These 2 sad souls were brought to our shelter yesterday morning, one of them in critical condition. After a thorough investigation by the Butler County Dog Warden & Humane Officers, the “finder” of the dogs, which turned out to be their owner, was arrested just moments ago and charged with 2 counts of animal cruelty!

The dogs, Porche and Chloe, are continuing to receive veterinary care by the shelter team. Animal Friends Humane Society has requested donations for the ongoing care of the neglected dogs:

We are asking for monetary donations at this time to use towards their medical care and prescription foods. You can donate one of three ways:

  1. NITWIT !!! Not only is this POS a SCUMBAG !! Animal abusing POS !!! He is a diabolic , lying , worthless Deviate!!! He needs to NEVER !!! Be allowed to own dogs or a cockroach in HIS Worthless LIFETIME!!!

  2. Not surprised the ones that turned these poor dogs in were the owners, just surprised they did! I hope they are made to pay for the dog’s vet bills.

  3. How could the owner let his dogs get to this point? If he had just turned them in months ago, they would have been adopted immediately. Sure, he would have had to admit he couldn’t take care of them anymore or whatever his reason for not feeding them, but at least they would have been better condition. Being honest with a shelter would have at least prevented these dogs being in such horrible condition.

  4. Good, I’m glad the animal abuser was found and charged. I’m so sick of these cruel effing monsters, I want them to pay for the sadness and abuse they cause to the innocent animals that depend on them. Fine him, put his name on the National cruelty list, jail time and ban him from ever owning another animal.

  5. Brian Trauthwein is no owner, he is an abuser whose piss poor treatment of these two beautiful dogs and needs to be treated like the bottom feeder he is – not even man enough to own up to his own cruelty. I hope this is a FELONY animal cruelty prosecution – his neglect deserves it. ALL animal abusers should be hogtied and dumped in the nearest landfill with the rest of the trash. Unfit to breathe.
