A woman in Missouri encountered a rather unusual sight when she came home from McDonald’s last week. Her one-eyed pony, Cricket, had a rider…a canine rider. The bizarre incident was recorded by 22-year-old Callie Schenker of Halfway.

Schenker uploaded her video to Facebook on February 1 and wrote:

I can’t make this stuff up!!!
So we pull back in our driveway tonight and this is what we see. This is not our dog! But apparently him and Cricket the one eyed wonder pony are best friends. I’m stealing the dog, new circus act!

Suffice to say, the entertaining video garnered a great deal of attention – so much so that Schenker has not only had to answer a ton of questions (the dog belongs to her neighbors and he’s not abused, he just likes to “travel,” and no, she didn’t put the dog on her pony’s back), but she has had to tell everyone to stop sending her friend requests.

Schenker wrote:

💁🏼💁🏼ATTENTION!!!
STOP sending friend request!! I will not be accepting any of the over 500 request I’ve gotten!! I do not know you people!!”

Cricket is a celebrity now – you can find more videos and photo of the one-eyed pony on Facebook here.

Did you know that if you want to get updates from a Facebook page, you have to do more than just “like” it? To get recent postings in your Facebook feed, you must also hover your mouse over the word “following” and then click “see first” from the drop-down menu. You may want to check back with your favorite pages on occasion because Facebook often changes your settings, no longer having your favorites among those to “see first.”

  1. I believe this poor dog was forced to ride on this disabled pony. This is animal abuse, but it sure got them on this website, didn’t it?

    • Your comment is rude Nadya, the dog is not tied on the pony and it does not look like he was forced to ride on the pony either. Your opinion whether the pony is disabled or not, it’s only got one eye but that does not make it disabled and it’s trotting along just fine.

  2. Our dogs would ride on our horses if we let them (we don’t), so it’s not a “set up”….. cats are also known to hitch rides on farm animals…..
