When a “rowdy” group of nearly 40 people gathered in the streets of Liverpool drinking and throwing empty glass bottles at cars on Saturday, a resident living one apartment above the raucous scene went downstairs to ask the people to stop throwing bottles at cars, a horrific situation followed.
According to the Liverpool Echo, Cristian Dutu, 27, and his mother were then attacked, as more than a dozen of the drunken participants climbed up to their second floor terrace with broken bottles and knives and began to slash the woman. And as the family dog Hindo tried to defend his owners, the out of control gang grabbed the dog by his legs and threw him over the terrace and onto the street.
Hindo survived the fall, but the miserable culprits weren’t done with their disturbing animal cruelty. The group below then started to hit the American bulldog with sticks. Dutu ran down to rescue his dog, but by the time he arrived at the emergency vet hospital, Hindo had died.
“Hindo was seven years old and well known in the neighborhood,’ Cristian said. “He was such a sweet dog, he couldn’t go to sleep without having his blanket over him, he was a softie. I can’t believe this has happened.”
