A sizable reward is being offered for the safe return of a wolf hybrid who was stolen from an animal preserve in New York. Sometime between the afternoon of June 24 and the morning of June 25, the wolf hybrid, Nakita, was stolen from The Town of Brookhaven Ecology Site, Park & Animal Preserve.
Targeted by thieves?
There is speculation that the wolf hybrid may have been specifically targeted by thieves. NBC New York reports that three fences were cut in order to access the seven-year-old hybrid. It appears that whoever cut the fences knew where Nakita was kept, and how to reach her. It is unclear if Nakita was simply set free…of if someone took her.
Nakita’s history
Nakita was once kept (illegally) as someone’s pet. Her family turned her over to the animal preserve last year after she allegedly showed signs of aggression; the animal preserve has observed no signs of aggression in her since the time that she came to live there.
Reward
A $5,000 reward is being offered by the Suffolk SPCA. Anyone with information about this case is asked to call the SCPD Fifth Squad detectives at 631-854-8552 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS.

Hope Nakita is found and has not be used as bait for other dogs or even tortured and killed. Some depraved people got her and hope that someone sees this reward and turns the thugs in, if she is still alive. What is happening in this country? We have cretins destroying property just to get to this animal, others who have no feels and will do stuff just to be on snap chat with their photos. Hope she is found ok.
Nakita needs to be found ASAP – she is in severe danger – PLEASE if anyone knows who did this – step up – you will be saving a life and getting a substantial reward for doing the right thing. Nakita needs to be back where she is safe and the skank who took her needs to be sitting in jail. Someone knew where she was in the preserve, and I wonder if this was an inside job?
