Police intentionally running over dog with van caught on video

A disturbing video has been circulating over social media showing a South Africa police van intentionally running over a sleeping dog and not making any attempts to avoid hitting the pet. Station commander brigadier Sonjani from the Elsies River Police Station is investigating if the incident involved his officers.

“We’re looking into the matter, and still trying to find out if this is an officer from our station. The registration is not clear in the video. We may need to track down the original source or building where this video was shot from to get more detail,” Sonjani told media reporters.

According to News24, there has been a massive public outcry after the video clearly showed the incident occurring on Neptune Street in Elsies River, South Africa. Belinda Abraham, a spokesperson for the SPCA described what happened.

“The dog was taken to the Animal Anti-cruelty League (AACL) in Epping. I don’t know what injuries the animal suffered at the hands of these SAPS members, but the vet ordered x-rays.”

The case is now under investigation which includes violations for causing harm to an animal and by not seeking help for the animal’s injuries. The condition of the dog has not been made public.

They even slowed down when they did it and afterwards, as if to inflict the maximum amount of damage on the poor dog and to make certain they’d done so.

Will they be punished? They’re probably immune from punishment there just as they are here. Cops think they’re discriminated against, but acts like this are all too common. There are good ones, but they remain silent while scum like this remain on the force giving all of them bad reputations and continue to kill innocent victims.

    Burn in Hell, bastards.

I hope this sweet pup didn’t have to be put down. I doubt the cop who did this will be punished – he’ll be protected by his brothers in blue. Personally, I’d like to run over him…..and then back up and do it again.

Another incident of animal cruelty perpetrated by those who are paid to be above such actions – ‘looking into the matter’ does not work for me – STEP UP and do something – as far as I am concerned the Brigadier Sonajani is just giving lip service to an enraged public. He can most certainly find out who these lousy examples of police are and get to the bottom of this cruel act. I hope this poor dog survives and these cop bastards are found and punished.

I do not understand how anyone can be cruel, mean and abusive to an animal….. it is very easy to assume anyone who finds it fun, funny or “cool” to hurt an animal are nothing more than useless, worthless, wastes of human life. Monsters, that is all they are.

That’s Bullshit. You know it was one of your guys who did this and they need to be punished for this abuse. There was ABSOLUTEY no reason for them to do what they did.

WTF!!! What is it with heartless cops nowadays? And it doesn’t matter what country .. assholes are everywhere. No wonder people hate them .. Don’t trust them .. and are most likely NOT willing to help them if they need it.

The person who did this needs to be run over several times with the same van and see how he survives. Disgusting and no value for any living creature to these people.
