At the Lancaster Animal Care Center in California, nine-year-old Nolan is quietly pining away. Technically, volunteers at the shelter say he has been there since August, and this friendly and social little guy is just so sad because he doesn’t have a family of his own.

Meet Nolan via his video:

“Lancaster CA – #A5206499 My name is NOLAN and I’m an approximately 9 years 2 months old male chihuahua sh. I am not yet neutered. I have been at the Lancaster Animal Care Center since October 16, 2018. You can visit me at my temporary home L313.” Follow Nolan’s Facebook page here.

Still not convinced Nolan is the perfect pooch that would quickly become your very best friend? This is how Nolan reacts in playgroups:

“Nolan came out to the yard today with small and large dogs. Nolan is social and friendly with small dogs and is tolerable of large dogs. When a large dog came in to the yard he became vocal but did not mind them around as long they weren’t in his face. He was tolerable when they would come sniff him briefly, but if the sniff was prolonged he would give a growl in warning of his discomfort. Today Nolan showed to be social with small dogs, tolerant of large dogs and likes human attention and solicited head rubs from the handlers.”

  1. He is adorable. I wish he could come up North (I am ~1 hour south of San Francisco). He would be very welcome in my home……. we would be delighted to have him!!!

    • We would love this little treasure.

I heard from and responded to 2 different people on Facebook about this little treasure but then never heard back…..

I hope it’s because he was adopted or already rescued……

Otherwise, we are still interested in Nolan as a Peters Puppy Pack member (he would have 2 rescued brothers: Wally & Al)!!!

  2. Come on isn’t there one person in the area that has a heart and can give this poor dog a home if I lived there I would snatched up this cutie in a second please someone open your heart and home and adopt and love this little one

  3. To these people who are interested in adopting Nolan but are outside the area, get in touch with Lancaster ACC as most centres,n rescues and shelters have viounrteeers who will transport dogs anywhere across the country. They organise link ups lunteers in other areas to share the travel by road so the can get a dog to his/her new home. Pilots for Paws is a charity which does the same thing nationwide and there is no clear st to the adopting family unless they wish to contribute I believe. Can’t understand why Americans cans don’t know about these otions when I do and I’m in Australia. This is about the fourth time just this week that I’ve shared this information on here.
Thoughts and Prayers for precious beautiful Nolan to soon meet his ideal furever family so he knows he will be loved and safe for the rest of his life.
