Pit bull in Pjs

A partially-blind pit bull, recently clad in some adorable, red pajamas, is the longest resident at Indiana’s Muncie Animal Care & Services. Thunder, who is five years of age, was taken in at the animal shelter in 2017 – he was dumped by whoever owned him last.

On Tuesday, the animal shelter posted a video of Thunder in his pjs – the shelter wrote:

Is there anything more adorable than a Pitbull in pajamas? Thunder here is modeling a piece from our Winter 2017 collection. As you can see it is lightweight, comfortable, and absolutely adorable. Thunder is currently our longest resident here at MACS. He’s a 5 year-old Pitbull. We’ve had him since September 4th, 2017 (Labor Day Weekend, when he was dumped unfortunately.) He is an amazing dog!!

The animal shelter outlined some of Thunder’s health issues:

He does have some neurological issues that are congenital, and NOT due to injury or illness. He is also partially blind, which doesn’t help his poor balance that stems from his neurological issues

Thunder is described as “incredibly sweet,” and great on leash (and laps!). Thunder needs to be the only pet in the home and he would do best with older (14+) children. The shelter wrote:

Thunder has not been treated kindly in his 4 years prior to coming to the shelter, and we would love nothing more than to see him cuddled on the couch next to someone. Please come in and meet Thunder!! He’s a staff and volunteer favorite!!

Did you know that if you want to get updates from a Facebook page, you have to do more than just “like” it? To get recent postings in your Facebook feed, you must also hover your mouse over the word “following” and then click “see first” from the drop-down menu. You may want to check back with your favorite pages on occasion because Facebook often changes your settings, no longer having your favorites among those to “see first.”

  1. He’s adorable….but the kiss of death is “needs to be the only pet in the home” – that fits ZERO of the people I know, unfortunately.

  2. ❤️???????????? PLEASE SHARE AND NETWORK SO SWEET THUNDER CAN FIND A LOVING AND FOREVER HOME. PLEASE HELP THIS PRECIOUS PUP. ????????????❤️

  3. PLEASE some kind hearted person step up for Thunder – he deserves a safe loving home – someone who has lost a pet would be a perfect fit for him.

  4. If someone is interested in adopting Thunder but wants more information about what living with a blind dog is like, check out the book Living With Blind Dogs and the Facebook group “blind dogs”. Each will provide you with lots of information. Blind Dogs make excellent companions and with time are able to do most things sighted dogs can. My blind dog accompanies me on hikes, to book stores, the dog park, etc.
