A bonded pair of senior dogs would have been dumped in the shelter parking lot, had Riverside Animal Shelter not been able to take the dogs. According to a volunteer, the heartbreaking story for these two frightened dogs began on August 28.

“The bonded pair was surrendered yesterday while I was at the shelter. Staff let me know that the owner is moving out of state and had tried to rehome them for quite some time with no luck. If the shelter wouldn’t have taken them, the owner said he would have dumped them in the parking lot. Shelter staff told me they are extremely bonded. If you are wanting to rescue, they come as a pair.”

  1. People suck. I have 2 senior Yellow Labs who are 15 years and 12 years young. I would NEVER dump them. I’m delaying buying an RV until the elder dog passes because I know she could not handle traveling. She is more important than my pleasures. I wish everyone felt that way. Hope someone will take these babies and love them unconditionally.

  2. So they are moving out of state? Take them with you, I moved from New York State to Tennessee and brought my 2 German Shepherds and their cat with us, when we moved back to New York from Tennessee, I was down to 1 dog and guess what he moved back with us. No big deal, they traveled well! I hate the excuses people use and to say you would dump them in the parking lot is despicable! I wish these people a long life of the same kindness they showed their pets!
