Delta Blue is still a puppy, but his owner surrendered him because he “got too big.” This friendly dog is a ten-month-old Great Dane who has not been neutered and is waiting at the Carson Animal Care Center for a family who will care and love him just as he deserves.

“#A5182614 My name is DELTA_BLUE and I’m an approximately 10 month old male Great Dane. I am not yet neutered. I have been at the Carson Animal Care Center since 5/25. I will be available on 5/25. You can visit me at my temporary home at C301. My former family who owned me for about a year had to give me up because I had gotten too big. But they said that I spend most of my time outdoors, but it’s not ideal. I seem to be good with small children. I am housetrained. I am learning how to walk on a leash. I am just learning obedience skills. I should be the only pet in the house.”

  1. I think I’m going to be sick! He got a great Dane and what!, did he think this dog would be the size of a chihuahua when it grew????????? oh my gosh! oh my gosh!

  2. I’ve noticed that happens quite frequently in Great Danes. Too bad people don’t know that when they buy one. Idiots.

  3. The ever-increasing stupidity of some people astounds me. Hello it’s a Great Dane. They are big dogs. I am totally amazed and actually saddened by how stupid people have become. And it’s almost like they’re getting more stupid with each passing day.

  4. And how big did this moron think a “Great Dane” was going to get? You want a “small” dog get a chihuahua! Sharing in hopes this poor dog will find a happy home.

  5. How big did they think he was going to grow or have they never seen a normal size Great Dane? This is by far the most idiotic reason to give a dog up that you basically raised from a small puppy. Easy come easy go.Our disposable new country. No responsibility for anything. Don’t want a dog, take it to a shelter and give it up. I bet if they could leave their kids someplace and never deal with raising them, they would do that too.

  6. A******s!!!!! How big did they think he was going to get? It’s a Great Dane!! I don’t understand how people could bring home a breed like that, then complain when he gets ‘too big’! Keeping a dog outside who’s essentially a large lap dog is cruel: Delta Blue had no idea why his family was being so unfair to him. I hope he finds a loving home soon. Lots of people appreciate Great Danes even if these idiots didn’t.

  7. Delta Blue has a commitment to adopt and 5 other people are on his waiting list. It looks like he will be adopted with no trouble! Good news!

  8. They are FANTASTIC family dogs!!! I grew up with cats, mixed breeds, and chihuahuas in my family home and friends who had Great Danes. The Great Danes were wonderful, mellow dogs who could take the whole sofa OR be a pillow for those of us on the floor (these dogs were ok with either/or)…… cats and chihuahuas are much more temperamental……
Whoever adopts this treasure is getting a terrific family dog.

I can’t understand how anyone could be so clueless about the adult size of a Great Dane…… this is NOT a “rare breed”…… these days, it’s very easy to google the AKC website for basic breed information BEFORE getting a pet (why is “common sense” not so common???)

  9. What art of “Great Dane “ didn’t they understand!? They knew he would be a big dog when they took him. God only knows why I hate Humans.

  10. You adopt a Great Dane – guess what douchebag – they are huge dogs – apparently your brain is located somewhere where the sun doesn’t shine. People like this make me sick – any piss poor excuse to dump a dog – and this idiot couldn’t even be bothered to get him neutered – well, apparently there are people interested in adopting Delta Blue and I truly hope he finally gets safe loving home – he deserves one.

  11. Thank you, God, rescuers and adopter! Delta Blue, may you have a wonderful life filled with the happiness and love you so richly deserve!
