Surrendered for being too old

When 13-year-old Puppy entered the twilight of her life, her family didn’t buy her a soft, special bed and senior dog food – no, they loaded her into a car and brought her to a busy animal control agency in California. Puppy, a poodle mix, was left at the Los Angeles Animal Services – West Valley Shelter on October 17.

Advocating for this senior dog

On Thursday afternoon, the volunteer-run Facebook page, Friends of West Valley Animal Shelter, wrote:

Puppy (yes that’s her name) brought to the shelter because she is too old. That’s right, too old.
Puppy is only 13 years old and still has so much life in her. She was dirty and itchy so a volunteer gave her a much needed bath. Look at her now! New look and feeling fabulous. Ready for a new life!
Oh yes, she’s better off without that “family” of hers.

  1. Sick asshole u do not dump any animal because they are too old they are yours for life & love ❤️ you doggie is better without u & I pray he gets a home ASAP bg

  2. Poor little girl. I hope someone in her previous owners find them selves in the same situation. Too old to keep Karma people.
Wishing this little honey a life of love and care

  3. What an adorable baby and age doesn’t matter. Puppy seems healthy and would have many good years remaining with a family. I can picture her sleeping on her soft bed with some toys around her and her family nearby. Amazing what a cleaning up can do to the appearance of a dog and I am sure Puppy feels better too. Praying someone snatches her up to give her the forever home she deserves.

  4. If there’s any to Puppy to KS, we’d love to have her join our pack!

I hope that owner is treated the same way when she/he gets old. What a crummy, mean-spirited thing to do!

    • Mary get in touch with the rescue directly, most rescues have volunteers who will organise nationwide road trips to rehome their animals. Pilots for Paws transport nationwide as well. All the best for getting this gorgeous little one to love and care for. She deserves that after her previous owners.
