On Monday morning, a shelter in Edinburg, Texas posted photos of Bruno; the dog had been surrendered by his owner after having been attacked by another dog. Apparently, no veterinarian treatment had been provided for the dog prior to his arriving at the shelter.  And now there would be no second chances, no extensions to save Bruno’s life and no excuses at Palm Valley Animal Center. Because of the severity of the dog’s injuries, he needed to be rescued by the end of the day, or he would be scheduled to be humanely euthanized.

And just two hours ago, Rescue Dogs Rock NYC stepped forward to help.

“Bruno is in serious medical condition. His face has been torn apart and he has a very deep hole beside his mouth that is bleeding. His eye is gouged out and swollen. This poor dog is in pain and is URGENT…”

Bruno’s condition is serious, but at the time of his rescue, he was still aware and active. A deep hole appears above Bruno’s mouth. Bruno has been transferred to the rescue’s partner veterinarian hospital for emergency treatment. No dog deserves to be left in this condition.

This is a developing story; more updates to follow. To help Bruno, please follow the link:

  1. Thank you Rescue Dogs Rock for helping Bruno and all the other animals you have helped. People are unbelievable. So many have no regard of a living breathing animal. Makes me ill!

  2. I wish the human assholes in the Valley would die of a horrible disease. South Texas is a killing field for animals. The humans are the ones that need to be exterminated down there.

  3. That doesn’t look like random attack injury. It looks like bait dog injury, although it’s unusual for dog fighters to drop off injured bait dogs at a pound.

  4. Thank you so much RDR NYC, so many precious dogs would lose their lives if not for your teans’ efforts. Just how anyone can just ditch their dog in such a condition is beyond me. There is absolutely no respect or even regard for life these days, everything is a commodity to be discarded when no longer useful and engaging interest.
This precious boy needs all the help that RDR will give him, but it comes at a price – this is where the public (yep, you and me) need to help them by donating whatever we can afford. They ask nothing for themselves, only for the animals, so they rely on us to do our bit.
Heaven help this world once all the people who love animals have passed on, it will literally be a world of the survival of the fittest.

  5. WHAT A SICK LOW LIFE POS SCUMBAG SURRENDERS HIS HURT DOG WHO IS IN SEVERE PAIN AND WALKS THE HELL AWAY. SOMEONE NEEDS TO TORTURE THE HELL OUT OF THIS DIRT BAG. WHAT A HEARTLESS ASSHOLE WHO THINKS LOVING OF THE PAIN THIS DOG HAS ENDURE. THIS SCUMBAG NEEDS TO BE SKINNED ALIVE AND LEFT FOR DEAD IN THE WOODS.

  6. Thank you RDR of NYC to the rescue yet again. Bruno is in good hands and just wish his owner would have stepped up and offered to pay for his treatment or part of it. Prayers to Bruno and RDR for all the wonderful, selfless work they do.
