In Kilmarnock, Scotland, the owner of 30 dogs found disgustingly neglected has been jailed and banned for life from keeping dogs after causing unnecessary suffering. The sentence was handed down on October 2 at Kilmarnock Sheriff Court.
According to the Daily Record, Elaine Erskine, 58, failed to care for 30 dogs in her home by not feeding them nor protecting them from harm. Three dogs had to be humanely euthanized; a Jack Russell and two German shepherds
An investigation began after two German shepherds and one Jack Russell terrier were discovered in horrible condition from the disgusting neglect. Inspector Jade Cummings testified the dogs were made to live in an area full of trash and feces; the smell of ammonia was overpowering. When officers arrived at the home, the Jack Russell had wounds over her entire body and was so emaciated her back and leg bones were clearly visible.
The two German shepherds, named Rosie and Arti, had been kept on a small porch. Both dogs were so emaciated and had been on the brink of death.
“Rosie was unable to even lift her head and both dogs had open sores and were extremely distressed, covered entirely in feces and urine with mounds of fecal material and urine fluids in a pool below and around them…”
The East Lodge resident was jailed for 14 weeks and told she can never own animals again. She pleaded guilty to violating the Animal Health & Welfare (Scotland) Act 2006.
Erskine is appealing.

WHY JAIL THE BASTARD IN A CLEAN CELL. PUT HIS DIRTY ASS IN A GARBAGE DUMPSTER AND LET HIM STARVE TO DEATH AND SIT IN HIS OWN SHIT AND PEE.
Would like to know what excuse she gave for the condition of all these dogs. How can you leave animals like this and feed yourself and basically ignore what is going on? Is she a hoarder and no one around her noticed the large number of dogs she had? Wish someone had called the authorities much earlier than this, then maybe more would have had a better chance of survival. Hope the remaining dogs are being taken care of with the possibility of adoption.
