An Oklahoma dog named Princess has proven herself to be a con job pooch as she pretends to be a stray to get free handouts from sympathetic people at the local McDonald’s.

The dog’s owner, Betsy Reyes “outed” Princess on her Facebook page earlier this week telling the nearly 600,000 views that her dog had been leaving her home at night and skipping off to McDonald’s. On Monday, Reyes followed Princess to the McDonald’s where she caught her dog approaching a stranger begging for food.

…”She acts like she’s a stray so people will feel bad for her & feed her burgers,” Betsy wrote.

And under the adorable pup’s photo, Betsy told it as it is:

“If you see my dog @ the McDonald’s on shields, quit feeding her fat as* bc she don’t know how to act & be leaving the house all the time to walking to McDonald’s at night. She’s not even a stray dog. She’s just a good diggin as* bit** that be acting like she’s a stray so people will feel bad for her & feed her burgers.”

In another video, Princess approaches Betsy’s car, and seemed to have had an “oops” moment recognizing her mom, wagging her tail and jumping on the car.

Depending on what your opinion might be of Princess, she has been referred to as a “diva” while others referred to her as very smart and funny. Now she has her own account on Instagram “dogatmacdonald.”

Here’s to making everyone smile this morning. Thank you Betsy and Princess.

  1. Glad to hear SOMEONE finds this amusing…?

Personally, I find it reprehensible that someone would expose their precious companion to such inherent dangers, letting them run free and unobserved at night?!

How “humorous” will it be when someone either poisons her, or snatches her for nefarious purposes… like selling her as a bait dog, perhaps to some lab for experimentation and vivisection, or – worse yet – to some heinous cretin who exacts pleasure from physical torture and execution?

As an ardent companion animal rescuer and advocate, I can personally attest to the (literally) thousands of messages that flood my inbox each and every day – as well as daily reminders from Pet Rescue Report – relating such horrors and more!

Wake up, people: Would you let your child loose under similar circumstances???

Your companions deserve no less attention and consideration: OWN UP TO YOUR AWESOME RESPONSIBILITY, AND PROTECT THEM!

    • I was thinking same after reading the article. Like lady why don’t you watch your dog instead of letting her roam all around. There are laws where a dog has to be leashed. I would hate for the dog to get hit by a car or stolen.

  2. How about NOT allowing your dog to roam free at night, and more importantly, how about putting a collar + ID tags on her?!? She’s lucky that she hasn’t encountered any unsympathetic strangers…. 😛

  3. Very smart dog but as an owner, I would be concerned now that what she does is out in the open and others know about it, she could be injured by a car (have no idea how close they live to McDonalds) or dog napped by someone who intends to do her harm. I know I am thinking the extreme, but this does happen.Be safe Princess.

  4. now that is one smart dog. she doesn’t look underweight at all. also with all those hamburgers, she will get fat.
    but the story is funny.

  5. Yeah, not funny or cute, at all. No responsible pet owner lets their animals wander loose.
True animal lovers, who value their pets as family members, don’t speak of them in such a derogatory manner either.
I wish that beautiful dog had a more responsible guardian.

  6. I wonder what the dog gets fed at home. Crappy dog food?

My dogs have been getting fed high quality natural food (what dogs ate before some marketing genius, who didn’t care about what dogs like or what is good for them, invented “dog food”), and they are never tempted to eat discarded junk food off of the ground when we are out for walks.

Their desire for good tasty food, and their nutritional needs, are met. Unfortunately, few dogs receive this kind of diet.

  7. Nothing funny or cute about letting the dog roam the streets putting the dog in danger. Keep your dog safe at home and feed her a good diet so she isn’t begging for scraps. Bad owner.
