In a case of alleged animal cruelty in Columbus, Ohio, police officers rescued a dog who a witness stated saw his owner punch and kick the pup because it ran away. Then the witness saw the man lock the dog in the trunk of his vehicle.

According to NbcNews,  James Combs, 34, was arrested on Friday in Marysville and was charged with animal cruelty after police pulled the dog out of the trunk. Combs told police the dog bit him and he was taking her home, but would never abuse her and just put her in the trunk. He denied he kicked the dog; instead had pushed out a kick in the general direction.

The witness said Combs approached him and asked him if he wanted to buy a pit bull for $25. The man refused. When the dog started to run away, Combs caught it, slammed the pooch against the car and threw it into the trunk.

When the trunk was opened, the dog wagged his tail as if nothing had happened; he had no apparent injuries.

Combs has been charged with two counts of animal cruelty – one for allegedly kicking the dog and one for putting the animal in the trunk. The dog has been taken to the Union County Humane Society.

  1. Is there anyone who’d doubt why the poor dog would behave that way toward this POS monster?

I hope he gets the absolute maximum sentence possible, and that the dog finds a great home ASAP.

  2. This WAS on CNN VIDEO of the whole arrest last night 01/09/18 the Law Officers cut this total Bastard NO SLACK!!! They even interrogated him in the car about stating to the man he tried to sell the poor little girl to for $25.00 that he was taking her home and “SHOOTING” her… I was very impressed with these OFFICERS they were so gentle with this cold, and frightened girl… I hope the county Attorney and Judge bust his chops!!!!

  3. Witnesses and he still lies. What a scum and someone should do the same to him but bang his head into the car a few more times for good measure.Glad his dog was taken away from him and will hopefully be adopted into a loving home.

  4. This hunk of maggot shit is only lucky the cops treated him much more humanely than he treated an innocent terrified dog – I swear if I had been the cop, the dash cam video would have malfunctioned and James Combs would have had a major beat down which he so well deserved. IF the dog bit him it was because of his cruel treatment that was witnessed – I pray he is victimized in every way possible while he is in jail and his punk white ass never recovers.

  5. Put this POS in the trunk and slam the lid. He doesn’t deserve to breath clean air. Dogs may be forgiving but I AM NOT.

  6. I’m so glad the police caught with him and believed the witness that he kicked and beat the dog even though the police didn’t see it. Usually they need proof. God bless that hero who cared to get involved and the police who took action.

  7. I hope he make parol for one reason and one reason only I am from Columbus Ohio….I forget this POS faces and hope I meet it!!!!
Please bring your sorry mother “F”ing ass to Columbus I have friends that would like to meet you as well

  8. Scum bucket….. he didn’t care about his pet or he wouldn’t be trying to sell him OR locking him in the trunk. Lock his sorry butt up and toss the key!
