Oh come on! Owner surrenders 20-year-old spaniel to high kill shelter

On Monday, what has to have been a truly heartless owner, a 20-year-old spaniel was surrendered to the high kill Lancaster Animal Care Center in California. Oh come on! If only our own dogs could have been graced with such a long life, most of us would smile as we lovingly caressed them and fiercely protected them. A volunteer at the shelter told Arnold’s story:

“This poor 20 year old man was just surrendered by his family to LA county’s second highest kill shelter. 20 years old, and he’s now in an overcrowded animal shelter. Beyond heartbreaking. Please share him for rescue.

Hospice foster needed.”

“My name is ARNOLD and I’m an approximately 20 years old male cocker span. I am already neutered. I have been at the Lancaster Animal Care Center since July 16, 2018. I am available on July 16, 2018. You can visit me at my temporary home L722.”

According to Arnold’s description by the shelter, this sweet senior was turned in because he was “too old.” Please share this dog’s plight with approved rescue organizations, friends, family and social media contacts. Sharing saves lives. A Facebook page for Arnold and rescue efforts can be followed here.

OF course THIS IS AFTER ALL : California : LAND OF WHO : Answer: WE THE ONE WHO GIVES A SHIT ABOUT NOTHING :: BUT OUR SELVES !!! A perfect example right here of the Guppies previous generations from the late 50’s up And I have named Guppies because they just haven’t a care in This WORLD about any living thing, WITH EXCEPTION OF THEM SELF!! How many of us would have been elated to have been able to keep one of our Beloved Pet’s that passed for 20 years and Look at the little guy He is still doing fine… What Vermin This “family” Ha! is…

The person who turned this dog in because he was too old should be shot before a firing squad and end his life now. No soul or caring for a dog he supposedly had 20 years? What disgusting vermin these people are. Only thinking of themselves and nothing else. Hope a rescue group gets this dog and lets him live out the remaining years in a foster home.

I want him. I’m trying to get Rescues in CA to help tag him for me so we can arrange transport to GA. They never do. Anyone willing to help please advise. Call me ASAP 478-456-8764.

You want a 20 yr old dog with health issues to be transported cross country during the heat of summer? Why? There are no homeless dogs left in GA? Congratulations. He would probably pass away during transportation. I doubt you want that to happen. Why would you even consider this? Seriously, WHY?

The owners names should go on a national registry so they may NEVER EVER have another pet. This is the most gut wrenching, heartless thing I can imagine!! This poor guy lived in one home is whole life, and now in his remaining time….they DUMP HIM in a kill shelter!??!?!!? HEY KARMA!!! Find these pieces of scum and show them what desertion feels like!!!

I’m worried – the link to the Facebook page for this dog AND the link to the shelter’s page for him are coming up with nothing. Please, if anyone has any update on this precious pup, please post it here!
